Yes, River of No Return Wilderness Outfitters, Inc. is bonded and licensed by the state of Idaho under the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Licensing Board (IOGLB) and under special use permit of the United States Forest Service. All guides are licensed by the state of Idaho through IOGLB.

Yes, all guides are required by the state of Idaho to have basic first aid and CPR training. In addition most of our guides have received a 9 day Wilderness First Responder class and at least one guide on the trip will have that class.

Maximum group size is 24 people on each individual launch date.

We will help you make your post-trip plans. This may involve having your car shuttled around to the take-out point or taking a short flight from McCall, Idaho to Salmon; or McCall to Boise. Post-trip transportation is not included in the price of the trip.

With your purchase, we supply a limited amount of beer and wine. We have wonderful beer and wine pairings with dinner each evening. You are welcome to bring additional alcohol, including any hard alcohol you might like. Please no bottled beer, only cans.

We ask for a 50% deposit at the time you book your trip.

We have a no refund policy on cancellations but are very willing to work with you on moving your trip to another date.

Tips are accepted but not required. Standard tipping rates are between 10%-20% of your trip cost.

We use large inflated rubber rafts with both oar frames and paddle boat set-ups. We also bring inflatable kayaks and stand-up paddle-boards.

We prefer 5-year-olds and up.

All meals are included with your trip purchase while on the river and at the lodges. You are on your own for breakfast on the first day of the river trip. The van will depart at 8 am the day of your launch; please have had breakfast prior to the departure.

With your trip purchase, we supply 3-4 man tents and sleep no more than two people in them. We have sleeping bags and pads for you to use, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Sleeping bags and pads are not needed on complete lodge stay trips.

Yes, if it turns rainy, cheap rain gear could ruin your whole trip. The best thing that can happen is that you bring or rent it (ask us about rentals), it stays sunny and warm, and you don’t need it.

Boise, Idaho; Idaho Falls, Idaho, or Missoula, Montana. From Boise, you can take a short flight (45 min) with McCall/Salmon Air or rent a car to drive to Salmon. From Idaho Falls or Missoula, you will need to rent a car and drive to Salmon. To Salmon by car- Boise is 5 hours, Idaho Falls is 3 hours, and Missoula is 3 hours.
